Sparkletts 5

We have had Sparkletts water home delivery service for over 5 years without any problems. Yes, the delivery drivers prefer to leave you the bottles on your porch (but you would too if you were them). The taste of Sparkletts surpasses any other water delivery service out there. *Everyone of our family members and friends agree that Arrowhead is the most horrific tasting water on the planet.

Fortunately we did not sign a long term contract with Sparkletts. From day one, when the driver came to deliver the first delivery of the water and the cooler, he did not ring the doorbell even though we were home and just left all the bottles and the cooler in our front yard. He left a sticky note marked "no one home to accept delivery" even though our front door was open! (Our screen door was shut, but clearly someone was home.)

Then on subsequent deliveries, the driver NEVER showed up on the right day and NEVER rang the door bell. I work at home so I am at home all day. So we never had the chance to give him the empty bottles. On the day he was supposed to come, we left them out, but then he never showed. Then he would show up on another random day and leave the water in our front yard.

Of course, the driver left the wrong amount and type of water, but again, we had no chance to talk to him about it. We called customer service at least once a week to get this straightened out, but nothing ever changed.

We also noticed lot of billing errors and overcharges which forced us to call customer service about every single bill. WATCH YOUR BILL! They had all sorts of over charges, charges for products we did not get, etc.

Then when we canceled, they still did not show up on the day they were supposed to. I was also very specifically told that any water that was sealed could be returned for a refund. So we stopped drinking the water knowing that they were coming to pick everything up.

Now our final bill comes and there is an agreement termination fee, but we did NOT have a contract. And there was no refund for the sealed bottles we returned. When I called, they did agree to refund the termination fee since they could not find the contract. (Because there was none!) But they told us that any water that is delivered cannot be resold and therefore cannot be refunded. Of course that directly contradicts what I was told when I canceled or contract.

They aren't even smart enough to just refund me for the unused water to keep me happy. How much does it cost them to eat the cost of 10 gallons of water? They would rather I get on the internet and post all the details of my experience.

Well I hope you have better luck than I did with Sparkletts and whatever you do, DON'T sign a contract with them!

DON'T SIGN UP FOR DELIVERY ONLINE!!!
Their scam is to tell you that it's $20-something a month for about 3 5-gallon bottles. Then, when you try to cancel because their service sucks so badly, they tell you that you're locked into a contract for a year. We looked through all of our emails and invoices, basically everything we've received from them. NOTHING STATED THAT WE WERE LOCKED IN FOR A YEAR! So, guess what? There's a cancellation fee!

We've had nothing but problems with this delivery. They didn't give us the right cooler at first so we had to wait weeks to get a new one. Then we found out that we had 2 deliveries a month and we only signed up for 1 a month. That was changed but then our delivery dates were off, so at this point we have no idea what dates we have for deliveries!

Then, about a week after our last delivery, we came home to 2 bottles sitting by the door. We didn't order anything and we weren't scheduled for any deliveries. We called about it and it turns out that they were going to charge us for THEIR MISTAKE! We had to leave them outside for someone to come get them the next day!

I just spent an hour on the phone with their call center trying to cancel and get them to waive their disgusting cancellation fee. I don't know what kind of messed up call center they run, but most people will probably only have time to call them on the weekends! They don't have anyone in their call center competent enough to waive my cancellation fee on a Saturday?! The entire time they were trying to make me feel like the idiot for not knowing that we were on a year contract! There's NOTHING that says that we signed up for a year!

I'm sorry, but Sparkletts isn't so good that it's worth all this trouble!

Water tastes excellent. Was told there was no delivery charge and pricing wouldn't change throughout the year in order to get us to sign up. Then we were given a cooler without a drip pan and spent the next 6 months trying to get the drip pan. Now I'm just exchanging the cooler if I can make that happen (it's impossible to get anything done through these people). The delivery charge is hidden under "energy surcharge" and they tried to increase my bottled water price 2 months after I signed up. I managed to have the increase taken off, but still trying to get a complete cooler. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't sign up! What happend to honesty when doing business!

At one point deliveries were not a problem. (The first couple of deliveries) Then got to the point where I was getting charged for water I never received, got deliveries on days that I was not scheduled on -- EVERY time I called customer service - I got this "we're very sorry, we are changing things around to improve the quality of our service." After 7 months of "dealing with their changes" I gave up. In researching there are MANY companies that delivery quality water. Check out your local area for the water companies out there. It is always best to support the local businesses in which you live. If you're going to go with Sparkletts - at least make sure you do your homework first!! If it doesn't work out ~~ told you so!!
