LocalConnections.com is a nationwide social networking website dedicated to networking neighbors with common interests. Local Connections aims to help people figure out where to go, what to do, and who to do it with. It allows people to meet, date, and network with their neighbors. It also has neighborhood recommendations for dining, as created by its users.
The model for Local Connections emerged from an elevator conversation. The founders were talking about how little they knew about people in their Manhattan office building, let alone people down the street from them. They also realized that when a person moves to a new neighborhood they often have no way to get to know details about their new area. The founders created Local Connections to supply America with the tools necessary to be comfortable and get comfortable with their neighbors and surrounding neighborhood.
