Perhaps someone can match Rose...Rose is one of those no middle ground sorts of figures- you either love him or you hate him (I fall in the latter camp, if any player deserved to be a Yankee, it's this clown- he embodies all of their bad traits. Rose was very, very good but a polarizing figure) If imitation is the best way to break this record, a guy would need a Prince Valiant bowl cut, about 56,097 scratch tickets and poker chips, and would need to hang on about 6 years after he should've quit to beat this once thought unassailable mark.
