 | GenghisTheHun (168) 02/08/2008 | Pernod is the variety that most people see. Pastis is absinthe with the wormwood removed, so it is legal in the countries that still ban absinthe. Pastis is an anisette type liqueur with added herbs to give it its golden color.
The drinker usually adds water which makes the liqueur cloud up. Try it. You will like it.

 | Loerke (46) 09/18/2007 | An odd Provencal liqueur that a friend once persuaded me to try. He poured some of the sickly yellowish stuff into a highball glass, then added a lot of water and voila! the concotion suddenly turned milky white. The taste of licorice was so strong, however, that I couldn't finish the drink, even diluted in a ton of water. I wouldn't recommend the taste, but it makes a cool conservation starter at parties, I guess.
