Drambuie is supposedly invented by Bonnie Prince Charlie. For an old Jacobite, such as I, that is good enough for me. After the '45 Prince Charles was on the run and fled to the Isle of Skye. He was sheltered by a member of the Clan MacKinnon, and gave the clansman the recipe.

It is made from scotch whisky, herbs and Scots heather honey. Hmmm!

Drambuie is a scotch-based liqueur, and one of my favorites. I like it best in a Rusty Nail, made from mixing Drambuie and Scotch, to decrease the sweetness.
