I take full responsibility for making this very bad decision- I just want to help someone else avoid it. If you would like added stress during your move, choose this company... I have moved several times across state lines and never has it been this stressful. In retrospect, many of the reviews for Partner are for local moves which may be manageable for Partner, but interstate is not their forte (or even within their ability). The initial interaction is pleasant as Marco tells you everything that you want to hear- a reasonable "all-inclusive" price, an appropriate timeline, a promise for car transport, etc.
Then the problems start. The car transport is actually referred out to a company that is also problematic (A to Z Auto Shipping). The movers are mediocre at pick-up and complete the 4 bedroom move to the truck in 4 hours. As stated in previous reviews, you will be charged for tape, packing supplies, "labor," etc., even if you packed all of the boxes beforehand and your quote was "all-inclusive." Ok, so not a big deal thus far, but then there comes a point at which one may become unsure if one will see ones belongings again.
During previous interstate moves (with other moving companies), a drop-off date is selected and adhered to. With Partner, a drop-off date of Monday translates into Friday (or whenever is convenient for them); however, you are never informed of this. You will call Marco (sales-pitch guy extraordinaire) daily who will then refer you to Cody (truck dispatcher) who will then refer you to "the driver" (aka Robert). You will then develop an antagonistic relationship with "the driver" (the possessor of all of your worldly goods for this particular time). The delivery date and time will change multiple times, and Robert will say things like, "I am not the postal service; I am not UPS; you cannot expect me to just show up when scheduled and deliver your things." [Really, Robert? Isn't that your job?] Because of all of the antagonism (in my opinion), Robert decides that he is unable to park in the parking lot at our new home and will need to transport our belongings into a smaller truck to "shuttle" them to the site. Shuttle = $500. By the way, 75 feet of walking transport is included, but you will be charged extra if longer. This includes road to driveway, hallways, etc.
The night before the move you will be informed that your final payment can come in 2 forms: cash or postal money order. This is a sign of a business scam, right? Why can't they except a cashier's check or credit card payment (like the deposit).
The driver shows up with ONE other person to help with the move (more money for each person? more money for Partner?) They are rude and disrespectful. They used the bathroom without asking first (frightened pets were being kept there).
Overall, we all have to make decisions for ourselves and live with the consequences. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a moving company. If you are very flexible regarding the promptness and quality of your movers, this may work out for you. Personally, I will physically move my own furniture, etc., before using this company again.
