If it were up to me, I'd require:
1. That reviewers fail a breath-a-lizer test before logging on;
2. Live webcam reviewing, only;
3. A "no clothes" policy; and
4. One hour of absolutely no moderating, what-so-ever.
Additionally: I'd add an anti-droning sensor...
This would significantly increase site revenues and RIA checks to those that participate in revenue sharing.

Oh what a good idea. Nothing like more self important cops. Site moderation is best done with, well, moderation.

Don't let the power go to your head.

The castle doesn't need more gatekeepers. . .more moderators will (directly or indirectly) work against the free-flow of opinions that does (should?) operate. . .

I chose this particular suggestion for reasons that will become clear. I have been reading this entire list, all the comments left under individual reviews and have a few observations to make. Feel free to respond. Is this or is it not an opinion website? A few on here have stated but don't actually seem to believe in or respect their own statement, "everyone is entitled to their own opinion". If this is actually true, why are some ridiculed for voicing their likes, dislikes, beliefs or knowledge? It seems that most of the controversy revolves around common decency, respect, morals and last but not least...personal responsibility. I feel sorry for the RIA Administrator, I'm sure he didn't expect to be placed in the position he finds himself in when his dream became reality. I truly believe, in a public forum setting, that the rules that have been around for centuries but not always followed should apply: Respect your fellow human beings right to believe differently from you as long as they don't use it as an excuse to hurt others. Once the line has been crossed, respect no longer applies and the morals(punishment) of the society you have chosen to live in....do. We are all adults who know right from wrong, just because this is an internet website doesn't excuse the lack of common decency in the written (typed) words.

I wish they had more super powers, but that's just me...

Previously, RIA "moderators" had the ability to add/edit to already-existing lists on the main page; I'm okay with that. As far as having "real" moderator privileges, though, I'm skeptical (then again, aren't I always?). If choosing long-time members as moderators, there might be issues with bias (everyone's got some bias), RIA would have to be very careful with who they pick for that kind of gig, since they're going to be picking people to represent the company and what it stands for. RIA might be better off taking on some outsiders to do this instead.But, then again, I was wrong about other stuff on RIA, so who knows . . . .
