1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6 5

Perhaps the greatest muscle car ever (with the most power), the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6 was the brainchild of Chevrolet company executives who were obsessed with conquering all other muscle cars of the era (and raising the bar as far as performance). Legally, these cars were said to possess merely 450 hp (horsepower), but estimates later on put it at between 500-600 (which would have put it beyond any legal limits). Available in convertible form or the traditional hard-top, the LS6 came equipped with the rock-crusher shifter, reinforced axles, an 800-cfm Holley four-barrel on top of an aluminum manifold, and a menacing cowl-induction hood. The LS6 ran 13 seconds and less easily on the quarter mile, and were often on par or bettered its rival 426 Hemis inside the Chrysler nameplate. Sometimes described as akin to being in control of a nuclear powerplant, the 1970 Chevelle LS6s are not for the faint-of-heart collectors who should not be surprised to pay a million dollars for the chance to own one of these legendary cars in mint condition.
