The Lincoln Memorial is a nice place to visit day or night. I have been there at 2am and found it to be peaceful with Abe looking over me. The area there is really beautiful, but you should visit Mr. Lincoln and remember all he did to make our nation where we are today!

My favorite part of the Lincoln Memorial when I visited, was to compare it to the back of the penny...It was cool standing next to the big statue of Lincoln especially since that is as well on the back of the pennies.

Impresssive, just like the man. There is really not much more to describe it--a classical building and noble statue.

It loses one star because it is a complete tourist zoo with screaming kids. But it is a must-see during your visit to DC. Nice view of the Capital building and water as you turn around. . .the monument itself is a fitting tribute to our greatest president.

Simple advice: see it with everyone else during the day, but come back late at night to soak it in while you sit on the top step looking towards the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building. I used to live 4 blocks from the national mall, and whenever I needed to go for a walk or be alone, I'd end up at the Lincoln for hours just sitting there thinking of anything that came to mind. It's just a special and wonderful place to be.

Stikingly beautiful, especially at night. There are plenty of steps to climb but it's worth the view from the top.

It should be required by law for all of our current leaders to have to spend a weekend there. Maybe they would get the idea!

Even overrun with tourists, as it always is, this is still a moving and inspiring memorial to the President that saved the union. It's got a tremendous view down the length of the mall, too.

The perfect tribute to the man who led us through the Civil War and preserved our Union. An interesting piece of architecture too.

No parking and no nearby Metro station make the location hard to reach for most tourists -- especially families with kids.

Great as a stop on your walking tour of Washington. It's pretty inredible how enormous and how detailed Lincoln is, pretty impressive. Find a beautiful spring or fall day to check it out (too damn hot and crowded in the summer) then walk to the Vietnam Memorial, Washington Monument etc. it makes for a great day of site seeing.

It's alright but certainly not the best thing that there is to see in DC. Fortunately you can just walk there from many of the other monuments so you don't feel like you've made a special trip.
