Union Station is a beautiful building. It will remind you of being in a larger city, but you will still know you are in DC. I also remember them having a nice food area, but its been a while since I was there. When you get off your train make sure to wonder around looking at the building as its beautiful!

Majestic civic work of art. This is the sort of structure that should be in all major cities. A reminder of the late great Penn Station in New York and it almost went to the fate of that lamented structure. Beautiful functional building, worth a trip to D.C. to see. Airport terminals - take a lesson from the buildings of this edifice.

Overrated train station overrun with overpriced shops catering to tourists.

It's beautiful, has awesome restaurants and shops, great architecture. Second only to Philly's 30th street station

The building is beautiful, and there are some good places to eat and shop. However, there are much more interesting things to see in DC.

A good place to find a variety of food, although the quality of food is good it is not overwhelming. Decent shopping, and the building itself is beautiful. Not a major attraction, and if you have are just visiting DC for awhile, then this stop is not necessary.

Its a train station. Its somewhat ornate and has some good restaurants and cheap eats, but its not worth going out of your way to visit.

great time

You can catch a movie and eat, as you can in many cities. Those from outside D.C. shouldn't really make any effort to see it. There are a lot more interesting things on this list.
