Who could not give this five stars? The history of the monument is also fascinating. Look up where they had to stop building for a number of years, and then started again. They couldn't exactly match the stone, so you can see the difference.

If you know when your going to visit, get your tickets on line (free). That way you can plan your day around your time to visit this center piece. Bring a good camera as the views are great on a clear day.

This is Washington D.C.'s largest monument. The view of the city from the top of the monument is simply amazing. This monument is larger than life, much like the man himself.

An impressive monument worth a visit if you are visiting D.C. The line has been incredibly long whenever I have been there, so I have never been to the top. However, I have been told that the view is incredible.

A simple, masculine symbol of the US. It's worth a trip up to the tip to check out the view.

I am disappointed to see the artistic scaffolding coming down from around the monument now that the renovation is nearly complete. A strong argument could be made to keep it up . . .

The clock tower in the old Post Office building offers a much better view of the city, less stairs, and much shorter lines.

The condomesque scaffolding is a definite plus-keeping America's assets safe!

It is a great symbol of our country but due to the construction, I have not been able to go to the top or enjoy it for its beauty.
