The White House was a fun tour, but has a ton of restrictions like no purses! I thought that was a little crazy, but you should do it if you want to see where all of the decisions are made. The tour is not that long and you are restricted to certain areas, but every American should see the place where our President lives. It is very rich in history and the tour guide was excellent. You will have to make a booking for this tour and make sure you follow the rules or they will not allow you in!

Quite ok. It looked exactly as one could expect. So it's not worth going there. Especially the fence is annoying! Just take a look at some pictures and you have a much better view on it.

Cool architectural design but almost to impossible to visit the interior...

This is not as vital to see as some of the rest on the list, but it is great when you get there.

We could see a tiny peek of it peering through a fence from about a half-mile away. I don't know if they're giving tours anymore... if they are, we couldn't find any!

Although you might be able to make better use of your time visiting other DC attractions (the waiting line for the White House can be long at times), visiting the WH is informative. Despite the fact that you do get herded through as if you were a steer in a cattle run, at least you come out feeling that you have seen what you, as a taxpayer, are footing the bill for. Maybe there's a little less left to see since the Clintons took some of the furniture with them - ha ha!

Needs fumigation after Clinton left...

Now that it's been cleaned, fumigated and the trash has been taken out – I’d put it back on my checklist of places to see while in D.C. “Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever. “ ~ Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821)

Tickets might be free, but they are often hard to get. Long lines for what is a very short tour that really doesn't show you anything very interesting. Waste of time compared to the Smithsonian and other D.C. attractions.

Thi is the most overrated attraction in all of DC. I am tempted to rate it lower. You see a very few rooms of it, and these are basically tours of fancy paintings and carpets. If you have a small amount of time in DC, don't invest too largely in the White House tour. See the Capitol building, the Library of Congress, and all the presidential memorials(especially Roosevelt) first.

I thought the scene in Wild Wild West where you see lots of sheeps in front of The White House was funny! If I'll be more serious: Thw White House is the place where the politics witch almost has ruined the human history & race has taken place! Noone would say an Adolf Hitler museum would be great entertainment, but when it comes to The White House it's OK to say exactly that! :-(

Avoid long lines by calling your Congress person before hand and arranging to get VIP passes before you leave on your trip. Try and visit during December so you can see the place decked out for the holidays.

The White House is a big disappointment if you go in with high expectations. It is a moderately impressive museum that turns out to be somewhat small.
