This Memorial is unique from the others in that there is no large statue to represent FDR, but rather a large maze of highlights from his presidency. FDR was a Navy oriented person, so the memorial is built with water as the main feature. There are calm, smooth waterfalls to represent the peace aspect of FDR and then there are violent waterfalls to represent the war aspect of FDR. Also, spread around the memorial are famous and very important quotes from FDR engraved into the stone. As with all the monuments in DC it is best to visit it at night as it is far more beautiful at night than during the day.

It's a great place to visit in the spring or summer; lots of water

It's probably full of inbred mentally-challenged Roosevelt descendents running around carrying giant chickens, shotguns, and copies of Ted Nugent's book.

A fitting memorial for one of the titans of 20th century America. Simple, yet beautiful, this memorial portrays FDR's message very clearly to all who enter. Even those displeased or uninformed of FDR's vision will find this memorial interesting and refreshingly beautiful. Those who are displeased shall be prompted to re-examine their attitude, if only for a moment. Those who are uninformed will gain a minimum understand of FDR's vision- a vision of hope, peace, prosperity and equality.

Its much different then the other monuments in the District. It teaches a lot about FDR and the time period. It is designed beautifully especially with the water. Like most monuments, it is more beatiful at night.

The space would have been better used for a outhouse.

This memorial has become on my favorites in DC!! It has SO much information about Roosevelt and his time era presented insuch an attractive manor! What is lacks in giganttic presidential statue(there isn't one) it makes up for in scenic beauty. My personal recomendation is to see it at night. The writing is still visible, and the gentle lights and rolling waters give it a wonderful feel.

This is the newest of the memorials and one of the best in my opinion. In the summer time you can go splash in the fountain and (right now) its especially beautiful with the snow capped statues and frozen fountains. The memorial is a nice walking tour divided up by FDR's terms and gives great insight into the struggles that faced our nation during this trying time. Its a great tribute to an incredible President, although it is a bit hard to find relative to the other, larger, monuments.
