Old Post Office Pavilion 5

very cool place to go. i had never heard of it until i went their to shadow an archaeologist for a day and it was one of the coolest old buildings i had ever been in. There is steel beems and old elevators that feel like they are going to fall. I would reccomend it to anyone going to DC

Old Post Office Pavilion 4

What a great find! On Penn. Ave, one block north of the Museum of Natural History, the Old Post office Building is the perfect spot to take a break from the "tourist trail". There is a pretty good food court on the lower level with shops just above. While you're there don't miss the best part of all... the bell tower is now open as an observation deck. Not as high as the Washington Monument but still high enough for a great view of the city (and there are no lines like those on the Mall).

This building and its enclosed mall and have special significance for me. It is here where I was served my first underage drink when I was only 16. The Old Post offfice it a pretty cool building just a few blocks away from the White House and the Smithsonian Museaums and is a great place to catch a reletively cheap bite to eat and relax while visiting the attractions in Washington D.C. The Building was originally built at the turn of the 20th century to house the United States Post Office department and the Washington, D.C. Post Office. Its worth visiting.
