 | zuchinibut (40) 02/03/2008 | I went to Ted's Montana Grill for the first time recently, and I wasn't let down. They are a relatively new chain that features the usual American steakhouse menu. However, I liked how the menu featured several options with bison. I had a bison ribeye which was prepared excellently. It is definitely more lean than beef, but the price tag is large. My wife had bison meatloaf and a friend had bison pot roast, which were both good with a price that was more reasonable than the steaks. I also tried some of the cedar plank salmon that was very well done. The rest of the menu looked appealing, and the atmosphere was nice. The drinks were moderately priced...not cheap, but well made. They also offered a nice, easy to read wine list and a solid variety of beers, including microbrews. Our appetizer was decent but not great, and I thought they could have offered more options for that course. I did like how they have a soup and entree special for each day of the week. Everything was done well with this restaurant, and the service was top notch for a chain. In terms of steakhouses, I would put it in between Outback and Ruth's Chris. In terms of quality, it was probably closer to Outback, but it did have some touches that made it feel a bit more upscale. I would definitely go to Ted's again, and I would bet that I would be pleased again.
