My favorite type of music! All the great bands: AC/DC, The Who, Guns 'n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Rush, and Queen! Classic Rock is the best!

I'm all about catchy hooks in music, and much Classic rock is lacking in that area. However, there is lots of Classic rock that does.

Never understood this term and what is or isnt 'classic rock'. Led Zep, Floyd, Queen etc are obvious choices because their music still sells well today. On the other hand most rock bands from the 70s and 80s have faded into obscurity so that dont make them 'classic' in my book. I mean what kids today have ever heard of Wishbone Ash or Gentle Giant? Would you count the Sex Pistols as 'classic'? They still have an influence and they're still remembered, much more so than most prog and metal bands from the same decade.

classic rock is the best music there is without question, music died when rap came out taking all future rockers away from the it and that not even real music it copied

I love classic rock but I am sick of classic rock radio. They play the same tired songs over and over again and ignore great bands from the 70's like UFO, Uriah Heep, etc.

I can remember when 80's pop-metal was never played on classic rock stations, but in the last three or four years Def Leppard, Warrant, and Scorpions etc. songs have been sneaking into the playlists. I have not decided how I feel about this change, because by accepting pop-metal the amount of blues-rock has decreased and I thought most of these stations had too much blues-rock incorporated into their playlists. Still, a typical two hours of programming is going to feature most of the same artists throughout the day: Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and a handful of others. The format runs a real risk of turning the 'classics' into 'moldy oldies'.
Classic rock is the music that I preferred as a teen, as well as a dose of country. The line dividing contemporary country and classic rock blurs more each year. I think that the natural progression from this type of rock was heavy metal, and I am exploring that genre more all the time. The worst shortcoming of classic rock is that there is never new material, a song has to have been time and road tested before it gets this classification.

Great if you're heavily into numerology and have an absolute obsession with the number 443, because that is the maximum amount of different tunes they play on the channels, mostly either overplayed ones by the greats or trash by Journey, Boston, Kansas, and Styx- and though I can't believe I'm saying this, if you're lucky Foghat.. ... yes its gotten so bad on those channels that f***ing Foghat looks like the 1968 Jimi Hendrix Experience in comparison

Yeah, but......
Its definition is definately more than a little vague, and if I go by the format of the two "classic rock" radio stations in my town, it consists of way too much arena rock and bad hair bands. Further, the obsessive airplay of certain songs has virtually knocked them off my personal play-list.
I really don't need to hear "Layla," "Smoke on the Water" or "Tumbling Dice" seven times a day.

My definition of classic rock (i.e. Zeppelin, Lizzy, Deep Purple, etc...) is by far the greatest genre of music ever to exist.

This type of music is my fav!! Usually involves lots of good electric guitar, and drums not to mention some creative, original lyrics. Some memoraable bands were: Led Zepellin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and many more!!
