This may be the best phone yet for the road warrior who needs serious web access but wants full smartphone functionality, too. Its 2.8" 320x240 screen isn't quite as nice as the higher-res iPod's, but it's bigger than most. The slideout keyboard (which automatically reorients the screen when it changes positions) provides a good QWERTY typing option, although the keys are low profile bumps and occasionally lacking in crisp feedback. Windows Mobile 6 is on board, and all reports indicate that it's a significant leap over WM5. The phone functionality is decent, although a numeric keypad would be a nice addition. Dialing using the touchscreen requires close attention and is probably hopeless for those with fat fingers. All in all, this is a legitimate contender for best smartphone - but, as in even the top smartphones, it's a compromise. The keyboard isn't great, the phone is heavier and bulkier than a regular cell phone, and dialing isn't the best. Still, I have no regrets about buying this phone.
