 | CleverElsie (12) 11/09/2007 | After two centuries of massive unrest and outright rebellion, can any
of us believe that imperialism is not an oppressive ideology that is
responsible for a cycle of discord that still hasn't been broken?
While there aren't many governments left that would formally
acknowledge their pursuit of imperialism, the powers of the first world
are still jockeying to exert their economic influence over the third,
and historically poverty-stricken countries are ambitious to do the
same. If these governments don't ease up and back off, relations
in the international community could suffer a lot more before they get
better.
