 | CleverElsie (12) 11/09/2007 | As defined in the U.S., liberalism advocates tolerance toward people of
all walks of life and their various beliefs. Therefore, it
supports regulations to protect and improve conditions for the working
class and for minorities of race, gender, and sexual orientation.
Policy change on issues such as health care, energy, and international
relations are encouraged to reflect the evolving needs of the
population. When radical, liberalism can tear at the foundational
glue of a society and make people feel unsettled and insecure in their
future, and conservatives often fear that this will result in the moral
destruction of the world. However, there is little evidence that
predominately liberal countries have had much of a hand in warmongering
or otherwise posing a grave threat to the wellbeing of other nations.
