Oh, I don't know. The State of Israel is a theocracy. It is the Jewish State and if that is not theocratic, what is?

Rome was a theocracy--Greece was a theocracy and a casual paging through history will find countless others.

Massachusetts Bay Colony, the Plymouth Colony and others in the good old USA were theocracies. Hmmmm!

Of course, the average grizzdipper/ fb robot probably thinks that this means rule by Theo Huxtable from the Cosby Show, in which case we'd certainly all be f'***ed...In all seriousness, this is the worst because assorted whackos from a variety of backgrounds think that every rule they make or belief that they hold should be seen as a mandate for everyone else.

Duh. It's hilarious to point out the 'godlessness' of cultures we attempt to vilify on theological grounds. . .Hitler, although the worst example of the religion, believed his own warped interpretation of Christianity. Mao was certainly turned into a god-like figure despite the silly refrain of the 'godless commies' argument. . .when the human race stops jerking off to the idea of running other lives with theology, we'll be fine. . .if not, we're in trouble. . .

All recent totalitarian societies have been - in some way - theocratic. In the USSR, Marx, Lenin and Stalin were elevated to God-like status. Same for Mao in China. Hitler had God-like status 'til he lost the war. In the mid 20th century, the Japanese were caught up in Emperor worship in a religion that reduced non-believers to sub-human status, much like today's Islamist fundamentalists and Dominionist "Christians".

Of course, we Americans would never fall for such bullbleep. We worship the Almighty Dollar.

Considering that those of this persuasion advocate wiping certain countries off of the map while continuing to support terrorism around the world? I'd say this one is a safe bet and we better do something or its our ass.

If your faith says there are only two kinds of people in the world: people who agree with us and dead people, you are the cause of all the world's strife. If you strap bombs to your own children, you are the cause of the world's strife. If you believe that dying in battle sends you straight to heaven then what you will do when you get your hands on a nuke is clear.

As we all know, adhering to the commands of any leader who bases his decisions on his personal god, who may or may not be God, is a recipe for disaster. Think of it this way: If it's his personal divine power, then he's not going to be too keen on sharing that power with anyone else, now is he? Another name for this is autocracy.
