 | CleverElsie (12) 11/15/2007 | Sony has been relentless in its efforts to continuously improve its cameras, and it does
offer well-rounded point-and-shoots that rival Canons and Nikons in the
same category. The distinguishing features of Sony consumer
cameras are outstanding overall speed and movie mode operation and
competitive resolution, although they're prone to the same
oversaturation and high contrast that can be seen in cameras across the
board at this level. Unfortunately, overly aggressive noise
reduction is a hallmark of Sony cameras, and the higher-end models
suffer not only from that but also from severe purple fringing issues
that ruin Sony's bid to be a player in the prosumer market. A lot
of value for the money for the average user, though.
