Well they didn't have American Idol back then, Ed had the guts to put on The Beatle and Elvis on. The only trouble was Ed was a little fussy.

Introduced Elvis, the Beatles, the Doors and countless other acts to a nationwide audience. . .certainly an underrated icon by my generation but the influence cannot be denied or ignored. . .

Ed Sullivan set the standard by which talk shows try to achieve, but often fall way short.
