Oprah is more of the icon of absolute boredom-she may be the most boring person in the world.

I'll watch an occassional Oprah segment if the topic is interesting, but I wouldn't say I check in on her show regularly. However, she is possibly the most influential on-air TV personality of this generation. She can make a person a star with her endorsement, and she has reached so many people with her messages over the years.

Her detractors would claim her influence is overrated, but she is the prophet of choice for a legion of sheep-like house-fraus who burn calories actually caring about what she says. . .and this has been going on for years. . .she's the goddess of overweight, socially and sexually-frustrated women who clearly need guidance. . .solid 4 indeed. ..

Until reality TV took over, daytime talk shows might have been the worst part of TV (arguments could be made for soap operas as well) . But at least Oprah is classier than most.
