It has trouble bearing the weight of its reputation (just like Sgt. Pepper's), but it is a very successful blend of art and craft. Advances in studio technology let them realize on tape the music that they were hearing in their heads and for all of its wild ideas and sound, it contains some great pop songs and delivers a suprisingly wide array of musical styles. There is no other album like, head music meets rock and roll. If you are properly planning your psychadelic adventure you can do no better than to experience the peak of you high time late at night with the headphones on listenng to the "Great Gig In The Sky".
