Ocassionaly someone will say something to me about being skinny, but I don't care. Because I know that I do eat. People look at you and say "Your skinny! You never eat." In fact I am in an afterschool program, and a girl who is always rude to people came up to all 8 of us who were playing basketball on the court, and called us either a twig or full of blubber. None of us except for one were overweight, and none of us were extremely underweight. I am about 72 lbs. which is very light for my AGE but for my SIZE, [height] I am not underweight. Also, this obese boy in my class calls everyone skinny, only because he is "fat."

Just like accusing someone who is overweight that they are not trying and just gorge on food.that is unfair to assume. you cannot assume that all skinny people starve themselves and make themselves throw up. there are people out there who DO have anorexia and bullemia but you would have to see other clues to prove that. Up until i was 30 i was underweight. during my youth some would think I was "painfully" skinny. I even got asked when I was young "do you eat?" Of course I did. I was just naturally thin. on my 5'5" frame my lightest weight was 95 pounds. now I could stand to lose 15-20 pounds.

Speaking from the perspective of someone who is far from skinny, I know the word "anorexic" can be thrown around a bit too freely to refer to someone who happens to be just a little bit underweight, just as the word "obese" is used loosely for someone who might have a measly 10 pounds extra flesh. Although there are ultra-skinny (in the two-digit range) people who do have eating disorders, there are a few "naturally thin" people who merely have trouble keeping weight on no matter what they eat. Again, it's all a matter of knowing one's situation before jumping to conclusions.

Quite the contrary. Most of the skinny people I know are the biggest eaters.

Wrong assumption. Every person has a different rate of metabolism. It also is dependent of habits, work, exercise, type of food they eat, etc.

It seems the people who want to be able to put a little weight on are usually skinny and the people who want to lose some pounds are usually atleast slightly overweight. Personally, no matter how much or how little I eat, I always maintain the same weight. I have often been accused of being anorexic all the way back to elementary school although entirely not the case, which has hurt at times. I am full grown now and still wish I could put a little weight on, but cannot no matter what I do. BTW I'm 5'11 119lbs, which by some standards could be considered under-weight.

Again, this is all in the makeup of a person.

No. Some of them are workout/diet fiends and others are just blessed by genetics.
