Dale Earnhardt's death was extremely tragic because the accident that took his life occurred on national television with millions of people watching. I didn't think the crash he had at the end of the Daytona 500 was so severe, but found out several hours later that he had passed away. It was truly shocking to see a legend of his time pass away after being at the top of his sport earlier in that day.
