Dog fighting is an everyday occurrence in Detroit, its woven into the culture. Killing is what happens in inner cities, whether it is humans, dogs, cats, or whatever. We get to sit back in the suburbs and act all outraged that this type of thing is going on, and expect guys like Vic to simply leave their life styles behind once they enter into professional sports. C’mon people.

People should get over this. There are guys playing in the NFL who have killed people in DUI accidents (Leonard Little and Donte Stallworth), there are wife beaters, and just generally violent individuals. And you know what, a lot of them get away with just a slap in the hand, and they're all still playing in the NFL. Vick got in trouble for running an illegal gambling ring involving dogfights. That's small stuff in comparison to the other above stated crimes. The guy payed his dues, lost his career, and his reputation. I say give him a chance to rebuild his life if he's truly repentant. As it stands, a lot of franchises will likely not be willing to take him due to the attendant bad publicity that they'll get from PETA and other interest groups. That shouldn't be. If the man still has the desire to play, let him.

Dude, you're getting a cell. Please deposit your cleats and shoulder pads with the prison trash bin; you won't be needing them anymore.

May he be bunkmates with the lifers who train and adore retired greyhounds in the prison program--hope they give him what he deserves; maybe they'll hang him from a dog collar
