Ernest Tubb is one of my favorites. Ernest had a problem and that was he couldn't sign very well! He always stated that his songs were popular because when one of his songs would come on the juke box, the man would turn to his girlfriend and say, "I can sing as good as him!" Ernest would conclude, "And he would be right!" I have this song on my Ipod and old Ernest knocks this one out of the park, to overuse a corny metaphor.

Maybe not the most well known version of the song, but it was released several years before Elvis recorded it. Tubb's version shared the number 1 spot on the country charts the first week of January in 1950 with Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer." Had to check Wikipedia on that one.
