I'd say he was at his best with the Sox, I remember being fairly young when he didn't sign with the Sox and went to the Jays. Who combined with the Yankees screwed him up. Great strikeout pitcher, possibly the best since Ryan.

With the Red Sox had some very good to great years- management dumped him when his skills began to fall-- he began 'roids' in all probability in the late 90s-hoping vainly to forever extend his career--- sad- tarnished forever.

After the recent news events (with much more to follow) when Rocket Man wasn't fingering underage music artists, gaining weight just before bolting for free-agency, and laying the groundwork for steroid use and subsequent lies that few people believe, this Texas-sized jackass was one flamethrowing mother when he was on his game. But as the island shrinks, his records might have to be reconsidered. . .

His Red Sox years put him in the top ranks of the teams starters, arguably at the very top. In my view management gave up on him too early, and he apparently thought so too, going on to put up some impressive numbers, some of which are now the subject of debate.

Roger before the juice was just as good as Roger on the juice. But I will never forgive him and so this rating is for his sox career only
