Brandon Lloyd 2

Brandon was recruited by then-UCLA assistant Mark Gottfried (now head coach at Alabama) who thought he could be a Steve Wojockowski-type point guard. Others saw him possibly as being another Mark Price, thanks to his shooting ability. As it turns out both projections were way off. Although he wasn't a horrible player, Brandon didn't have reallly any point guard skills or athletic ability, and all he could do was pretty much shoot. In other words, he wasn't the player the program needed as he never averaged more then two points per game even though hat times he was the number one guard off the bench. Another problem for Brandon was that he was from Oklahoma and by all accounts was intimidated when he came to the bright lights of Los Angeles. He was by no means a fan favorite and the student section was never happy when he came into the game. Whenever Steve Lavin put Lloyd into the game he was flooded with e-mails from Bruin fans protesting the decision despite the fact that Lavin didn't have alot of optoins to go to on the bench. However in Brandon's final home game at Pauley, the fans gave him a nice round of applause when he came into the game.
