A finese power forward/center who specialized on hitting outside shots like Bill Laimbeer. However unlike Laimbeer, Cook was not a banger, rebounder or defender and the only reason the club selected him was the team felt like he could fit into the triangle offense with his shooting skills. When Karl Malone went down with an injury in the 2004 NBA Finals against the Detroit Pistons, he along with Slava Medevednko were forced into action and neither got the job done. He was expandable with Vladamir Radmanovic signed as a free agent before the 06-07 season and was traded to the Magic with Maurice Evans for Trevor Ariza.
