27 Dresses was your standard romantic comedy, which means the plot had no unpredictable twists at all. It was clear very early on who Katherine Heigl's character would end up with, and what their dilemma would be. So it wasn't a mentally challenging film, but it was still enjoyable. I'm impressed with Katherine Heigl, because she carried almost every scene in the movie. I don't care for Grey's Anatomy, but I've liked her in Knocked Up and this film. She is a very attractive actress who manages to look like a person the average person might now. She doesn''t have the "Hollywood" look, yet has a natural beauty and a great personality on screen. Her character was a big mess and a little obsessive compulsive, but Heigl managed to make her likeable. Most of the other characters were uninspiring, but Tess, played by Malin Akerman was great. I thought to myself after watching the movie that she reminded me of a prettier Cameron Diaz. After looking her up on IMDB, I noticed she also starred in the Heartbreak Kid. I just looked at my review of that movie, and I mentioned how she reminded me of Diaz there as well. Akerman is absolutely stunning, and is a pretty good comedic actress as well. She is now on my radar screen.
