Andy Cohen 5

ORIGINAL POST (1/15/08): The best guitarist to come out of University of Chicago's law school. Actually, one of the best guitarists in indie rock, and in rock generally. You could hardly find a popular musician who pays less tribute to showmanship, but Cohen's brilliant style becomes obvious in the solos in Firewater's "Tarnished Angel" or in the massive riff on Developer's "Ice Station Zebra." Definitely belongs on this list.

UPDATE (6/16/08): Kinda annoyed that after I posted a review which sent Cohen to the top of the list, a bunch of know-nothings came along and gave him low ratings just because they couldn't stand not seeing their sacred idol (Van Halen, Satriani, or whatever) at the top of the list. It's totally fine if you don't like him, and I don't usually feel peevish about RIA, but at least listen to the guy before you rate him, for chrissakes.
