 | fitman (36) 05/07/2008 | I wish there were more choices, like: disagree or sad, but as long as we're only allowed helpful, funny and agree, some folks will use the funny to express their annoyance with the message they're reading as well as to applaud intentionally amusing posts or to deride unintentional humour. It's all good.

 | SuKingsANDKnights300 (14) 05/07/2008 | I ain't care about someone who marks my comment with annoyance. Is my comment baseless, nonsense, ridiculous, and careless?...it doesn't pain me. whatever...I care no....what I care most, is for you to take your time to read it, if that annoys, please don't hesitate to mark it with unhappiness. One can even outrageously voice out their inner feelings, if they wish so.
Update: Yes more funny votes please!...as a funny man, I encourage any rater to rate every weblist I have and any fuuny cooment I have posted to be rated fuuny. Do it!

 | Ridgewalker (48) 05/07/2008 | Giving funny votes when an item isn't funny seems inappropriate (even though there isn't a negatory, one-click option) unless you have already beat your head against the wall trying to reason with the reviewer in the "coments" section and it fell upon a brain that was slammed, epoxied and nailed shut. Even though this may have failed, a collective voice may have spoken. If THAT fails, just go to the RIA blog and leave an anonymous message to display your displeasure. If THAT fails, try starting with a friendly, private message...

 | lmorovan (12) 04/03/2008 | There are reviews that are definitely funny and it is for the credit and appreciation for the humor in it. But I guess the button actually talks about the disagreement of the rater against the reviewer. How can you tell? Say, I get 500 funny votes. How can I know how many of them were actually funny and how many were actually disagreements? The only way to know is if a funny vote is accompanied by a comment of disagreement. Since usually it never happens, it points to the fact that the rater disagrees but doesn't have what it takes to publicly acknowledge it, rather hide behind the shield of anonymity. Hence, an honest reviewer will never use the button. That is, an honest reviewer.

 | oscargamblesfro (76) 04/03/2008 | Unless it's opposite day like on Pee Wee's Playhouse... in all seriousness you can mark mine inscrutable, unhelpful, boring, pedantic, whatever ..

If this is the kind of thing that gets you annoyed, you're in serious need of a more fulfilled life. I don't care how smart or correct someone thinks their opinon is, someone, somewhere is going to find it ludicrous.
Live with it.

 | ILikePie (49) 04/03/2008 | Well in the end, it just adds to my tally of 'Funny votes', so I'm not complaining. Most of the time, most of the votes I receive are genuine, (or at least they are awarded to reviews I intended to be funny) so it's not really a problem.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 03/12/2008 | Sorry- there is nothing 'annoying' about this. . .if you claim that (for instance) the (translated and copied for at least the tenth time) Bible is literally word-for-word true you induce the laughter of the educated. Can't control truth, inquiry, and humour. . .

 | James76255 (17) 03/12/2008 | I've noticed this as well. I just dismiss it with a roll of the eyes. People who lack the brain power to put their opinion into words need something to click and run away. Of course, I take any rating with a grain of salt as I have seen many comments with 4 or 5 helpful ratings that are anything but helpful.

 | Donovan (129) 02/20/2008 | The funny vote option is a joke :) People misuse it and rather than really voting on something that is actually funny they use it to mock the reviewer.

 | HistoryFan (98) 02/14/2008 | This has only happened once to me; I made a comment about something (forgot what it was) and someone found it to be funny. Whether it was intentional or accidental (sometimes I accidentally click the "funny" button when marking a comment as helpful and agreeable), I won't know for sure.

 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 02/13/2008 | Matthew Russo found this rather unfunny. Truth be told it wasn't even my idea! Sure, I helped, but I wasn't the only one that decided to trivialize him...

 | trebon1038 (62) 02/13/2008 | We definitely need a "disagreement" button. But I only use the funny button when the comment makes me laugh...guess Im the minority around here. :)

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 02/13/2008 | I really think that the unhelpful button should be restored and in addition a disagree button. At the very least, a disagree button should be added.
Funny is the new unhelpful!

 | LadyJesusFan777 (33) 02/13/2008 | I do think there should be another kind of a button such as "disagree",
because it really looks odd and out of place to mark funny on something
that is clearly not funny. People should use the comment feature.
What I think would be fair is having buttons marked "agree", "disagree", and "helpful". "Disagree" sounds much more respectful and not quite so cold.

 | Twitchin' Monkey (14) 02/13/2008 | i can see how some may use it to express a disagreement, as we no longer have the unhelpful or dissagree choice. But unless there's a comment or a reply to tell me why, well, that's as far as my concern goes.

 | drkseph (4) 01/15/2008 | Meh, I just ignore it.
(1 voted this helpful, 1 funny and 1 agree) |
 | MissPackRat4Jesus (38) 01/15/2008 | In one way, it could be a little annoying in that the funny vote is there, exposing a person who posted a heartfelt, well-thought out comment as some kind of idiot. In another way, it's rather simple to shrug off, and anyone who gets them, including myself, should merely accept it as scoring a point. Trolls will always find a method of lurking around and making their silent little marks no matter what changes the site goes through, so whatever happens, happens.
