When I was a kid we used to sing a variant of the theme to the old TV programme "Branded" :

Stranded, by the toilet bowl,

Whan do you do when you'rs stranded,

and you can't reach the roll

Even worse if you're in a public toilet.

That's when you start hoping that the guy in the next stall can give you singles for a five.

This has happened to me, as my bathroom storage closet is on the opposite end from the toilet. to qoute James76255, that's an uncomfortable "duck walk". I'd almost rather just get in the shower. haha

At home if this was to happen, it would be my own fault. I live alone and I don't see the dogs using any toilet paper so its all on me. At work we will never be without either...Doc learned after years of living with women and having an all female staff, you never run out of toilet paper....if the roll is low the stash is nearby.

Annoying, but avoided when you keep an "emergency roll" hidden nearby just for times of crisis like this.

Having to make the "help-me-I'm-stranded" call sucks, but at least my husband is generally within earshot (one bedroom apartment, makes it easier) so that he can come "rescue" me.

If you are in a public restroom it's an entirely different story. Luckily I don't do this that often, but when it happens I feel fortunate there is nobody there to see me do the little duck walk to get a fresh roll. For those that keep their toilet paper outside the bathroom... God help ya.
