Personally, I think throwing out the works of any philosopher is idiocy, no matter how much one might disagree with them. Of course, there is a fair bit of idiocy on RIA

On the contrary, this is the year to immerse yourself in his wit. I'm guessing whoever put him on this list didn't get much past the "God is dead" quotation. "Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs, it is the rule."

Are you serious? He makes college philosophy classes worth attending. . .Nietzsche was not the philosopher-du-jour during my tenure, but as Americans get fatter, weaker, and pray louder as reading and science education levels continue to plummet along with the dollar, good ol' Fred is as relevant a philosopher as ever. . .
