This is great stuff. The most common complaint I have seen about this oil is the price. I just picked up two five quart jugs at auto zone tonight for $38 each. This was not a sale price. Still a little more than $7 a quart, but I think it is well worth it. I run this stuff in every vehicle I own and it always makes for a smoother idle, more power, and better gas milage.

The best oil Ive used in my car. Can go way longer than other oils and still looks good 7,500mi into it. But the price you pay is just insane!!!! The performance boost was worth the extra few bucks back in the day. No oil has ran smoother in my cars, so nice and smooth and quiet but who can afford $9 per quart. If your lucky you have a small car that only needs like 3.5qt and thats not too bad but if not its just way to expensive. They dont even offer a 5qt jug like all other brands to help save on the cost. Back when a jug of royal purple was $6 bucks I got it every change but now that its gone up by a 1/3 of its price Im just not interested in the product anymore. I just use whatever synthetic is on sale these days.

Great Oil. Use it every 7500 miles in my 2005 Dodge Ram 4.7L I switched from Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic, which is a great product but noticed a slight increase in responsiveness and power after two oil changes using the RP product. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for longevity and to anyone who commutes or puts high miles on their cars. Also, I used the RP diff fluif in my rear diff. Last thing to do is the tranny! Also, just a quick note for new car owners. Chances are you wont notice the difference between the regular oil and the RP. However, in my opinion, helps to keep the motor clean and running like new.

I've been using this oil for 10 years. Started at the advice of a stock car driver. I first used in a 93 Dodge Dakota w/ a v6 Magnum engine. Traded at 90,000 miles for a 99 Dakota. Started using RP in it at 500 miles. Traded it at 120,000. Made trip from Oklahoma to New York and back, with a trailer load of furniture. Drove all over upstate NY and into the City 2-3 times. I had to go to Watertown from Utica. to find it up there. It is easier to find now. Made a trip to Florida with same trailer and drove around Florida from coast to coast. Traded the truck for a 2004 Ford F150. Dealer would not give me enough, because of mileage. So I kept the Dodge. Sold it to son-in law, cheap. Drove it back to Oklahoma. He is still using the truck & RP oil. 145,000 miles. It NEVER used any oil while I had it. Son-in-law tells me it still doesn't. I put it in the Ford, 2 days after I bought it. 12,000 miles. I now have 55,000, uses no oil. So, I put it in my 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna. Bik... Read more

I recently had a bad experience with a group of Stihl saws and one Homelite after switching to Royal Purple brand 2-cycle oil. I had used it previously on my McCulloch saw with no trouble and on my Echo weed whipper. When I tried using it on my big Homelite saw, the saw seized up. Since it was old, I thought it was just tired. A couple months later, I hired a sawmill to cut a white oak into timber. This tree was 40" in diameter. A friend cut it down and then I had to cut off the branches and split the main trunk which was too large for the sawmill. First, my Stihl 260 quit after 1/2 hour. I thought that maybe the plug fouled out. I then got out my 660 and started splitting the log. Since we were looking for 17' timbers, this was a long split through a big tree. I cut for about 10 minutes and the 660 stalled and would not restart. I went to my other 660 and resumed the cut. After only 5 minutes, that too quit. I took these saws back to the dealer to be looked at. In the mean time, I end... Read more

I usually run Valvoline 10w-30 conventional in my 97 F150 (4.6 with 165k miles). Only reason I tried out Royal Purple is because somebody (probably someone's ex-girlfriend) threw 6 unopened 10w-30 quarts into my trash bin at work...SCORE! So I say hey I need to do my oil change anyways. I bought one extra quart at $9.00 and a Motorcraft oil filter. Put it in and really didn't notice a difference. Fast forward a few days later and I do notice the truck is slightly quieter at startup. The engine was slightly noisey for the first minute or so but would go away quickly (think 165,000 miles). Truck runs great but no better then when it had regular Valvoline. I believe that you might see a difference or might need this oil in a high rpm or high horsepower engine but since I have a high mileage 4.6 Liter V8 pumping out 220hp, I think ill stick with my Valvoline @ $10.49 for 5 quarts instead of $9.00 a quart Royal Purple. I just can't believe someone threw out $54.00 in motor oil what... Read more

I might be biased since I help promote for Castrol, but I think EDGE is far more superior than Royal Purple. EDGE was proven in industry tests to provide unsurpassed engine wear protection that no leading synthetic oil, including Royal Purple, can beat.** EDGE offers guaranteed extended drain interval protection for up to 15,000 miles, or one year, whichever comes first.* In addition, EDGE meets the API SM, API CF, , Ford WSS-M2C929-A, GM 4718M, GM 6094M, ACEA A1/B1 and ACEA A5/B5 specifications and Royal Purple does not. Castrol SYNTEC and Castrol EDGE are both ILSAC GF-4 certified. Royal Purple does not meet the standards of ILSAC GF-4. *Guarantee excludes severe service applications such as frequent towing and hauling, racing dirty conditions and extreme idling. If your vehicle is covered by a warranty, follow your car manufacturer's recommended oil change/service intervals, which can be found in your owner's manual. **Results based on Sequence IVA wear test.

I have a Bombardier Outlander 400cc ATV. I change oil every 20 hours. Last month, at the 80 hour mark, I used Royal Purple for the first time. The difference was immediate and dramatic...started quicker, ran smoother and much quieter.

Great synthetic oil. There was a noticable differance in the smoothness, power, and fuel economy within 100 miles of using this oil. Royal Purple is some great stuff.

Wow! I am amazed there is such loyalty and emotion when it comes to brands of motor oil. Royal Purple makes a large variety of lubricants. They concentrate solely on lubricants unlike many others which are fuel and petroleum companies. I have heard lots of good things about this oil. One of my husband's friends that is a mechanic says it will make your engine last longer. He also says his truck has more power after using this oil. I think he is just like everyone else and has his own opinion when it comes to oil. Some say as long as it's greasy and others swear by all the different blends. Obviously all brands must be good because there is someone out there that will swear that every brand I have ever heard of is the very best. Royal Purple seems a little pricey to me so I guess we will stick with Valvoline which hasn't failed us yet.
