 | Wiseguy (35) 05/15/2008 | Remember the remark about invading Pakistan if necessary to eliminate
al Qaeda, later saying, "I did not say that we would immediately go in
unilaterally. "What I said was that we have to work with Pakistan's
Musharraf."
“They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people
who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade
sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations,” He says he didn't
mean it to come across that way.
When asked how we would respond to another major al-Qaeda attack on the
U.S., he talked about disaster response. Shortly after he said that WE
mis understood HIM.
Heres one about reasons why the U.S. may be struggling in the war in
Afghanistan. "Arabic translators deployed in Iraq are needed in
Afghanistan" Really? Afghans don't speak Arabic. Oops.
Yesterday Obama calls a Michigan reporter "sweetie" when asked what he
would do for the workers at the auto plant he was visiting. When confronted with an unscripted question...he can't reply with a unscripted answer. Say what you want about Bush and his gaffes, I don't really disagree, but how is it possibile that such a fine speaker like Obama get misunderstood more than Bush?
It seems that every other week Obama has to apologize to someone.

 | Billebob (0) 02/28/2008 | This guy is smooth and polished. Just exactly like the belly of a snake. He says nothing. He would make a good soap opera actor, but not president. I wouldn't trust him in a shithouse with a muzzle on.

 | Jamesrog (0) 02/21/2008 | I would tend to agree with the last poster. I saw the debates tonight and it appeared to me that Barack's showing was more a matter of having a "prepared script" than one of showing "spontaneous oratory". His presentation was poised, but his answers were not as penetrating as Hillary's. Barack comes across as an insurance salesman with a spiel, not as a statesman with a solution.

 | Megametrix (0) 02/20/2008 | Obama uses the speech written and spoken by others. Examples are Duval Patrick of Boston and Sen. Edwards of North Carolina. This is not oratory. This is pre-packaged hype and blatant marketing.

 | abichara (60) 02/11/2008 | Obama certainly is a very good orator, perhaps one of the best talents
to come along in some time. I'm not downplaying the ability to
inspire, for that's one of the methods leaders use to mobilize people
to go to bat for their programs and ideas, but way more is required for
the job than high soaring rhetoric about everyone getting along in
"post-partisan" America. Certainly I agree that the political
environment in Washington is way too toxic, but I just don't think that
he's ready to take it on. Too inexperienced, too naive. He
does speak well and has some of the tools needed for the job. We
shall see...there is a decent chance he may be our next President.

 | Jkeda (0) 02/11/2008 | Obama really understands the art of oration. His style is simular to the late Dr. Martin Luther King
