I had a great time every time I went there.Beautiful trails & camping,cool nightlife & HOT girls.Lots of really scenic places to ride your Harley,too.

I dunno so much about Southern California since I've only visited a friend in LA once (which was a fun trip, but I didn't explore anything but his neighborhood), but Northern California is my favorite place in America so far. It has everything from mountains to oceans, all of which are gorgeous and immediately accessible. The climate is predictable and sunny. The people are extremely nice, interesting and laid back.

San Francisco proper is like a socialist microcosm (which I <3) and the Bay Area at large is the perfect locale for anyone in tech. :)

Remove a good portion of the population and I'd like it just fine...

Honestly California has it's good points, but there is a big rivalry between Cal and Texas, and many people here in Texas think Californians are whacked out, but I think that's more political than anything, I would take Arnold over Texas governor Rick "Pinko" Perry anyday!
