 | GenghisTheHun (177) 02/07/2008 | I have used gallons of blue in my life. That was the color that we used in grade school when we were learning penmanship. The teachers used old fashioned bluing that you bought in the grocery store.
Most of you don't know what bluing is. It was stuff that your grandmother added to the wash that made whites whiter! Anyway, if we second graders spilled bluing on ourselves, when mother washed our clothes than the ink came right out.
Then in the late forties or early fifties, the ink companies came out with washable blue and washable black ink. That really was the same thing as good old laundry bluing. I think you can still buy Mrs. Stewart's Bluing.
