Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland 4

It seemed like there was a lot of advertising for his film early in the year when it came out, but it absolutely flopped at the box office. Obviously the makers of this film were trying to use Vince Vaughn's popularity to propel this film to the top of the charts on a pretty low budget. However, its not a traditional film at all, and never took off. It is a documentary, but this isn't made clear before viewing the film. Its also not exactly clear if its supposed to focus on Vince Vaughn, or the comedians who were featured. While Vince Vaughn gets a lot of face time, it is the tour that is the focus and not the comedians. Its not like the Blue Collar Comedy Tour or the Original Kings of Comedy. Those were all stand up, were VVWWCS is about the behind the scenes of a comedians life on the road, with some stand up thrown in to help tell the story. Stand-up is a topic that I am interested in, but I think a documentary on this subject could have been better served without so much Vince time and more of a focus on the comedians. While I liked Vaughn's involvement in the show, and you get to see what he is like as a person, he is more cut out to perform a script than to perform on his own. The movie was entertaining to me, but it didn't overwhelm me at all. I can see how others could be big Vaughn fans but not find this film entertaining. Probably worth a watch for those who would like to stalk VV, or for those who are stand-up dorks.
