I love animals too, but there are not too many of them on RIA. Humans are boring.

Yes Im an animal lover,especially dogs.about 3 weeks ago I lost my border collie I'd had for almost 10 years.this dog went everywhere I did,I even had her trained to be a certified service dog.but she failed the test at the very end she frieked out when the fire alarm went off d uring the test,she was suppose to wake up the deaf lady,but instead ran out of the house.oh well. she was very smart,and Im sure one day I'll get another dog,but no time soon,it has really hit me harder than I imagined it would.

Nothing wrong with being an animal lover, where I have the problem is when people and groups (PETA, etc.) take things way too far

I suppose you could consider me a member of PETA....People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.

On a more serious note, Imorovan makes some great comments below. It really does seem like some people treat their pets better than they treat other people. It really is quite sad.

I don't dislike animals, in fact I think that given the right conditions, certain animals can make great pets. But if you truly are an animal lover, if you live in an apartment with no available outdoor space, don't get a big dog and keep him locked inside all day.

I am an animal lover. especially dogs. I would not like to think someone would have an animal hater group. no one I would want to hang around.
